Which Dress Shape?
There are lots of different styles that will flatter everyone's shape. Think about what your best parts and worst parts and go from there.
Pear Shaped?
Anything that is fitted at the top with a fuller skirt will look fabulous. Empire and A-Line cuts will also look perfect.
Top Heavy?
To avoid bringing attention to your top half opt for a long line bodice. Detailing is best positioned along the waist line or slightly below.
Broad Shoulders?
Sheer fabrics draped over a low cut bodice will emphasise your chest and take away your broad shoulders. Puffed sleeves are a no go as this will only assentuate your shoulders.
Tall and thin?
A high necked ball gown with tight fitted sleeves and a long slender silhouette will help shorten your frame.
Curvy?
A smoothly shaped empire line cut with elongate your body. Keep any detailing to a minimum.

Tips to remember when looking for the perfect dress:
Remember, choosing a dress that is the height of fashion now may quickly look dated in your wedding photos. You can choose dresses or two piece outfits and both have advantages, but for both you will need to think about a number of aspects of your outfit.

In order for you to find your perfect dress you will need to do some research:

- Have a look through some wedding magazine to get some inspiration
- Go along to a local wedding fayre
- Start window shopping as soon as you can in order to get a feel of the different fabrics and styles
- Work out a buget and try to stick to it

If you find it difficult to make a decision then make sure you take someone along with you to help you choose your dress, whether it be your mum or your best friend.

Bridesmaids
It isn’t essential but the majority of brides choose to have bridesmaids, pageboys or both to accompanying them at the altar.

You don’t want your bridesmaids out-shining you but that doesn’t mean you have to dress them in something awful. There are some beautiful bridesmaids dresses out there but before you get searching for suitable frocks try to bear these few points in mind:

  • Comfort is essential – nobody likes to feel uncomfortable
  • Choose something that will complement your dress
  • Consult your maids to find out what they want – you still want them to look fabulous.
  • A certain style dress may not suit everyone, therefore pick a colour and fabric that everyone is happy with and then perhaps have different styles made up.
  • Budget – this is key as you don’t want to over spend on the dresses to then have to sacrifice something else.
Even though most people's eyes will be on the bride and groom, the mothers of the bride and groom will certainly not go unnoticed. Therefore every effort must be made to ensure you look as beautiful as ever.
