Health and Beauty

Health and Beauty spa-girl.jpg
Ok so you’ve got your dress, now all you need is to make yourself look beautiful on the day.

There is nothing better than being pampered. Make sure you book yourself in with a beautician at least 6 months before your wedding so that they can get your skin looking in tip top shape for when your wedding day arrives.

A beautician will be able to help you out with many things such as waxing, eyebrow shaping, beautiful nails and even apply some fake tan to give you a radiant glow.

Some Beauticians also specialise in bridal makeup so make sure you enquire.

Hair
Hairstyles can really make an outfit look special, so when the time comes to choose what hairstyle to have make sure you consult your ideas with a hairdresser whom you trust
. I would recommend that you have a couple of trial sessions with the hairdresser, so that you can both get a feel with what works best and what doesn’t. Do not however experiment yourself on the day of your wedding - leave it all to the professionals

Short Hair Options
  • Add jewels, pretty clips or flowers to your hair
  • If you want to have long hair for the day then you can have hair extensions inserted.
Medium to Long Hair Options
With this length hair you can pretty much have any hairstyle. Just make sure you choose a style that suits you and makes you feel comfortable, whether that means having your hair up or left to hang in loose curls.

Hair Dos.....
Start to think about your big day hairstyle as soon as you have set a wedding date.  This will give you time to grown your hair, experiment with shorter styles or get used to colouring your hair before your big day.
Book your appointment in advance as good hairdressers do get booked up quickly.
Get your hair in tip top shape.  Plan regualar visits to the salon for trims and treatments before the wedding.
A trial run is essential so you know you will be happy with your final look.Take along to the hairdresser - a picture of your dress, sample of the fabric and your veil and tiara if you are having one.
If your hair is fine avoid heavy head-dresses that can flatten hair.
If you are having your hair put up it is best to shampoo the day before, as this makes it easier to handle.
Leave plenty of time for your hair appointment on the actual day as you will not want it rushed.

Hair Dont's.....
Don't expect too much from your hair.  Remember that your hair style needs to last the whole day.
Don't experiment on your wedding day - this should already have been done at the hairdressers
Make Up
The make up you have for your wedding day will be a little different to the make up you would normally wear on a night out. You will want your make up to last the whole day but that doesnt mean applying thick make up. Ideally you want your bridal make up to look as natural as possible.

When you meet with your make up artist, remember to tell them exactly what colours you like wearing and what look you are aiming to create. Professional make up artists will know how to assensuate your best features and hide your flaws. In order to have your skin in the best condition try drinking plenty of water at least a month before your wedding to allow any impurities to come out.

When booking your trial, try and have it done at a similar time to that on your wedding day, i.e. in the morning or around midday. This will allow you to see if the make up will last the whole day.

Remember you need to feel comfortable and like the way you look. Don’t be afraid to say you don’t like it.
