MusicWedding Music ![]() Whatever kind of music you fancy for your ceremony and reception you may want to bear these things in mind: Religious Ceremonies If you are getting married in a church then there are different sections you will need music for, such as... The Brides entrance If you don’t want to have the Wedding March as you enter the church then you don’t have to. The organist can play most music. You could also have a choir or even gospel choir to jazz things up. Hymns Religious ceremonies tend not to be complete without hymns. It is a good idea to choose hymns that most people know so they can happily sing along. However there is nothing worse than only having a couple of people singing, so it may be a good idea to have a choir as backup. Signing the registry This is where the bride and groom sign the registry therefore it may be nice for a choir to sign a nice gentle song. The exit The Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is the most traditional piece of music played at a religious ceremony. This piece of music is however not set in stone that you have to use it – just make sure the piece you choose is uplifting and happy. Civil Ceremonies The format for civil ceremonies is very similar to that of a religious ceremony, you will need music for the entrance, the signing of the registry and the exit. You must remember though that religious music is not allowed. I suppose Civil ceremonies allow you to be slightly more creative, for example you could have a string quartet, a harpist or a singer. The choice is yours. It may be an idea to speak to the registrar to double check that your choice of music is going to be suitable. Photos When the photos are being taken there may be a period of time where guests are just standing around mingling have drinks and canapés. To make this time a bit more enjoyable for those not taking part in the photos, how about having some live music. I remember going to a wedding where they a live brass band playing. The sun was shining and the music just made everyone smile and enjoy themselves even more. Wedding Reception This is where the party really begins…. You will need to decide whether you opt for a live band or have a DJ. Whatever you choose, remember that you will have different age groups at your wedding, so try and pick music that will appeal to all. Even though trying to please everyone does not always work. More importantly just enjoy yourselves. *Please mention Completely Weddings when you contact suppliers* |
