ToastmastersToastmaster..."Toastmaster" is a general term, prevalent in the USA in the middle of the 20th Century, referring to a person in charge of the proceedings of a public speaking event. The toastmaster is typically responsible for arranging the order of speakers, introducing one or more of the speakers and keeping the events of the day running to schedule. It isn't essential you to have a toasmaster present at your wedding, however, some people feel that it enables the various elements of the day run according to plan. It will be the job of the Toastmaster to announce when dinner will be served, introduce the bride and groom to their table, introduce all of the speeches, the cutting of the cake and the newlyweds departure. Traditionally, the Toastmaster would wear black trousers, a white shirt, red jacket and white gloves. This ensures that he stands out from the rest of the wedding congregation. Professional Toastmasters will be fully clued up with regards to wedding etiquette and should be able to answer any questions you may have. *Please mention Completely Weddings when contacting suppliers* |
