Transport

Arriving in Style wedding_transport.jpg
Unless you are getting ready where the ceremony is being held, then you will require some form of wedding transport to ensure you arrive in style.

There are many things to take into consideration when choosing your method of transport. If the venue is nearby then one car may be sufficient enough to take the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride first then come back for the bride and the person giving her away. However if the venue is quite a distance then more than one is necessary,

One of the best man’s duties on the day is getting himself and the groom to the place on time. It is best that they arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony is due to start.

There are many types of transport to choose from. Here are just a few examples:

Cars
The most popular choices of cars used for weddings are either vintage cars, Rolls Royce or Mercedes. Limousines are also frequently used.
Wedding car suppliers tend to charge for the whole day and most firms require a deposit up front.

You may want to ask the car firm the following questions:

What happens if the car breaks down? What is the procedure for a replacement car?

Will the car be decorated with ribbons?

Is the car going to be solely mine for the day – or will the driver have to leave to go to another wedding?

Horse and Carriage
They go together like love and marriage.......
A Horse and Carriage is very romantic, however please make sure you do your research before booking your Cinderella fantasy.

If your venue is quite far away then this method of transport is not suitable. Make sure that your carriage has a roof in case it rains.

Remember that after you have arrived at your destination the horses will need to be transported back to their stables, which can be quite time consuming therefore this may be an added cost.

The cost to hire a horse and carriage will more than likely vary depending on the company. They can range from £300 for a single horse and carriage to £600 for a pair of horses.

Helicopter
If money is no object then you may like the idea of arriving at your venue via via a helicopter. However before you book it, you must make sure your destination has somewhere safe to land. Helicopter flights are subject to weather conditions, therefore it might be an idea to have a plan B.

If you are going to wear a big dress, remember that you will not have a huge amount of room up in the helicopter and it is not like getting in and out of a car.

These are just a few suggestions of how you can arrive in style. Don’t be afraid to try something else.
