If the idea of saying "I Do" whilst standing on white sand appeals to you then getting married abroad sounds like the perfect solution.

A huge proportion of people now decide to get married abroad this is because they want to have their dream wedding without the headache and cost of getting married at home. Also the weather is a lot more reliable than in the UK.

If you do decide to marry abroad then you can either use a tour company to take care of all the details regarding the wedding package or your can organise you own day. The whole point of getting married abroad is that is a much smaller event than a traditional wedding at home.

Most hotels throughout the world offer wedding packages. The services are normally a civil ceremony, however a religious affair can still be arranged.

Most wedding packages tend to include your basic requirements, such as the service, marriage license, certificate and legal fees, but these can differ in some hotels.

If you still want all the flowers, cake and photographs then please be expected to pay more money. Make sure you tell the tour operator everything you want.

One thing to take into consideration when getting married abroad, is that you may be on show to the rest of the hotel guests, therefore if you would prefer a more private wedding then think about going to a quieter destiantion.

The drawback for getting getting married abroad it means that not everyone will be able to be with you when you say your vows. Having a big party when you get back, where the bridal party wear their outfits again will give those that couldn’t make it, a chance to see what everyone looked like and also help you party the night away. Make sure you have the ceremony videoed so that people at home can watch your special day.
